Michael Baker made quite an impression in his time at the Parramatta Eels. He was great assistance to me as head coach developing his skills in his specialist area. I believe Michael has become very proficient as well as maintaining his strong work ethic. I again worked with him during my time in at Wakefield Trinity and I reckon Michael would be a great addition to any footy club

I worked with Michael Baker between 2005-2006. His Rugby League knowledge combined with his computer skills made him one of the best analysts I have come across. His desire to keep improving his skills, along with his great work ethic, would make him a valuable asset to any rugby league club that choose to hire him.

Michael Baker worked with me during my time at the Parramatta Eels and when I was Head Coach of the South Sydney Rabbitohs. His knowledge of the game, his ability with computer systems and his hard working approach made him a valuable asset for my coaching staff. His knowledge and skills were a major asset when coming up with gameplans for opposition teams and during the review of matches. I would recommend Michael for any club that wants to improve how they analyse their teams’ performances.

I worked with Michael in 2005 and 2006 during my time with the Parramatta Eels. His knowledge of the game along with a great understanding of the software systems we used provided me with great help on a daily basis. No task was ever too difficult for him and his work was always of the greatest standard. He is still someone I turn to for advice today. I believe Michael’s skill set would be an asset to any rugby league club.

I first come into contact with Michael in 2010 when he was recommended to me during my time as CEO of Hull FC by my Head Coach Richard Agar as someone who could add a great deal to our coaching staff. I was initially impressed with his CV and the calibre of people he had worked with but it wasn’t until I had the chance to meet him in person did I realise just how big of an asset he would be for our club. His work ethic is second to none, he will do whatever it takes to ensure he can find an edge, either through statistical or video analysis, over the opponent. As soon as I had the opportunity to get him involved at Widnes I jumped at the chance, his technical eye and attention to detail really helped with the development of our academy players. Not only is he good at what he does but he is also great person and fits in well in any team environment, he certainly will bring a lot to any team that uses his services.

I first met Michael when I visited the Parramatta Eels in 2005, I was instantly impressed with his knowledge of rugby league.
Over the years Michael became a trusted advisor for me whenever I needed advice on player recruitment of NRL players. His assessments and advice, in particular, on statistical elements, and traits a player may possess, was very good. I also consulted him when I was involved in international camps, from both an analytical aspect, but also with technical help.
I had the chance to bring Michael across to Hull FC in 2011 and his knowledge and skills were a great asset to me and to the club. I was able to trust his work completely which allowed me greater time to coach and improve my players.
Michael possesses an incredible work ethic, and would often work long hours, and work at any time of the day, and short notice, if a job needed to get done. His capacity to work the long hours, and turn the work around to deadlines was a great strength of his.

I was looking to improve our post game analysis ahead of the 2016 season at the Featherstone Rovers and I was recommended Competitive Edge Analysis. Being a part-time club there simply isn't enough time in the day to give the players all they deserve in order to help them improve their performance and a full time analyst was a luxury that as a club we could not afford. Michael was able to tailor a package that suited my needs perfectly, it allowed me to analyse in greater detail the teams performance but also the players on an individual level. Michael was always prepared to work to tight deadlines and would always go above and beyond to get the job done. The quality of work was as good, if not better, than some work than I have seen at Super League or NRL level, and I would encourage any coach looking to get a better understanding of their players and team to get in touch with Competitive Edge Analysis.
